hello topgun...iv got 182nd rank in comedk...wht all choices i mite land up with...cud u pls throw a lite on karnataka colgs n the branches which r gud in the various colgs...

at 182 ..you definitely stand a good chance of getting a good seat in a reasonable institute, ur options by choice can make me help you better....so whats ur prefernce..i'll help you with the colleges surely...

hello topgun....
at my rank im anticipatin tht il land up vid choices of pedo n prostho as per iv gotto know bt the last yrs counsellin...my 1st choice wd be prostho. in tht regard..bt thrz always a confusion regardin gud branch-avg/jus ok colg n vice versa...
guide me on tht part...iv heard tht colgs in interiors of karnataka like sullia bagalkot raichur n gulbarga n few blor colgs like dayanand sagar.kle society.shyamla reddy.maruti dc hav visitin faculty...is it worth gamblin 4 a clinical seat in such colgs...or its better to choose non nlinical in gud colgs of dharwad davengiri n mlor...also which all colgs hav implants integrated vid prostho....
1 more thing..thrz a notion tht non clincal mds hav better salary packages as compared to clinical 1s as freshers.....in tht regard do all clical branches hav the same scenario...i mean is thr a distinction in d packages of pedo, prostho endo,os as well///

sorry for the delay ..life's a bit screwed up these days .. so .....
both these branches are the best in a.b.shetty only....prostho dept has been well developed under dr.shridar shetty, and pedo has one of the highest no. of publications...along with the good amount of preclinical and clinical work..
there is hardly any second opinion to this fact...
next ofcourse is dharward...after that there is an array of colleges which await you... you must goto these institutes and decide urself..which best suits your needs....
as for the branch..... all clinicals are good and equally paid..except that pedo was in some places paid a lil higher but no idea whats the scenario on date...
non clinicals are definitely paid higher than the others and community of course has an extra edge in the international scenario too...but then do remember you will be out of touch of clinics for 3 yrs(except for some places where community is clinical..eg dharward)
...so the options are all yours for sure.. gr8 goin'...

| hi... dento whiz although topgun wud be in a better state of answering this but still for ur info... UGC inspection and other formalities are already over for A B SHETTY..... just a formal approval letter is pending which cud be on its way any time... so be prepared for any last minute changes.....still i hope they do give their seats for comedk this yr. for thelast time atleast... |

hello topgun....i hav got 128 rank in comedk.....m interested in endo or prostho....can i get these at some good college...n one more thing i m very much confused about is that whether i should go up with the branch preferences or should i focus on college along with the branch...but majority of people say that go with ur branch...colleges doesnt make much difference....plz guide me...thanx  |

| hi, can anyone please help me.i am little confused.one senior oral pathologist professor told me there are no more jobs in colleges for oral surgery and ortho.can anyone please guide me regarding future choices after doing oral surgery if there are no jobs in colleges.i always felt clinicals are gud but suddenly someone tells like this so it is confusing to decide what is gud clinicl or non clinical.bcoz finally there is no use if there is going to be no job even after mds.please help me to clear my doubt. |

Well lot of hustle bustle goin around the place..hmmm...
Well one by one..folks
#dentowhiz, AB SHETTY probably got deemed this time...even i'm not sure..the authorities not speaking much bout it .. but incase the news is correct expect at least a jolt of 1 lac plus in the tution fee...and counsellin most probably will done from comedk ranks only..but separately at the college..but all this only if it gets the deemed status letter ...
#smile4u, at 128 therez a good chance of getting prosthodontics at a good institute no surities however... and yes prefer ur branch ..it stays with you all the time...ur college doesnot...
#docnp, demand for oral path and community is definitely higher and so are their pay packages, but nothing like that jobs getting over for top clinical specialities ...esp with so many dental colleges opening up....MDS Faculty wud be either ways in demand
so take care and enjoy... last 10 days to go...??? howz it feeling..keep a cool head.. ENJOY
