Implantology In health sciences and technology education, the Manipal experiment has succeeded and the Manipal institutions have established a track record that is unequalled in the private sector in Asia. It is in recognition of this experience and expertise that Government of India conferred Deemed University status to major Manipal institutions in 1993 giving birth to the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).

Recognizing the opportunities and demands modern education brings Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal progress over the year without looking at the past. MCODS always believed in the philosophy of late Dr.T.M.A.Pai, founder of Manipal, to impart more requisite and responsive education and to keep pace with the changing world of dental education. MAHE?s vision towards preparing people for the world of work, is unique & innovative, in academic experiences like Oral Implantology & Cosmetic Dentistry.

Dental Implant treatment has been one of the most recent success stories of dentistry. It has become the integral part of dentistry and has opened new frontiers of research in the dental profession. Similarly, Cosmetic/Aesthetic Dentistry has evolved through the need for more extensive continuing education by the society?s demand for accessibility to appearance - related procedures.

In view of great demand in Implantology and Aesthetic Dentistry, Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Manipal affiliated to MAHE offers Certificate courses in advanced Implantology and Aesthetic Dentistry designed to provide wide range of experiences to dentists who wish to update their knowledge with the latest development in dental services.

Course Content

Intensive one week training mainly designed for experienced practitioners, who wish to learn and incorporate the established principles and protocols of implantology and aesthetic therapy safely in their existing practice. The course also offers hands-on practical training on patients. They will be taught the principles and methods of patient assessment, treatment planning, best material selection, surgical and restorative treatment protocol to achieve optimum functional and cosmetic results as per clinical needs of each individual patient.

Eligibility

Minimum qualification: B.D.S. degree recognized by Dental Council of India or Dental Council of their countries.

Fee Structure

Fee structure is based on self-financing concept. Payment may be made in two installments at the time of enrolment by demand draft in favour of MAHE, payable at Manipal or Udupi.

The total fee structure is : Rs.2,80,000 for Implantology for Indian students
US$ 10,000 for NRI/Foreign students

Rs.2,00,000 for Aesthetic Dentistry for Indian students
US$ 8,000 for NRI/Foreign students

This includes accommodation in Hotel Valley View International, Manipal (twin sharing basis), breakfast, working lunch, two tea-breaks, and supply of course material (teaching and clinical), access to academic facilities, laboratory services. However, this will not include the cost of implants and prosthetic superstructures for implants.

In addition to the above mentioned fee, candidates are required to pay Rs.3,500/- towards registration and Rs.7,500/- towards caution deposit (refundable after completion of the course).

Faculty

Reputed national as well as international both faculty will be training the students as per the requirement of various contact sessions.
